I've read this book before almost ten years ago and it is as good now as it was then, even better because it has been updated to reflect the times.

It is a very valuable tool for an artist, especially a fine artist who wishes to solicit galleries to exhibit their art. For other artists, such as myself, who wish to create art and sell it online to the general public it is still worth reading. Is it a fine-art portfolio or is it a consumer-oriented site? Do not merge the two concepts. She focuses on the fine-art portfolio and states that consumer-oriented Internet marketing is a field unto itself. She does lists resources in the appendix section and yes, some of these books and websites are outdated; however, you can still glean some tips from this chapter even though you do not want a fine-art portfolio site.

Overall, a very helpful and resource-packed book for all artists. Half useful advice, half woefully outdated advice being originally published in this book does have some useful information on grant proposals, but their advice for marketing includes no information about online marketing but it does say put together a press kit with a 8x10 glossy headshot. I believe most of the glossary in the back can be found online.
